This is my oil painting on substrate canvas, Priya posed for me, 16 * 20 inches, available for sale. It is such an amazing experience to do figurative works from life. The more we do portrait study from life the better we get with the skin tone, light and anatomy. She came home and posed for me for 4 days, every weekend. It was such a good experience for me. The presence and absence of light demarcation is very clear when your model is sitting in the front of you, which means it is easy to study from life than doing a study from photo as reference. In fact studying from life enhances your portrait study from photo as reference. She sat for about 3 hours in each sitting and I saw her dozing off a little bit here and there during the session. It was a great session and I loved it.
