There is a lot of water bodies in India. People usually collect water from there. They use it for various purposes like bathing, washing animals, cleaning vessels and washing clothes. In those days, there is no use of soap or any chemicals. But the case is different now. The water bodies were already getting highly contaminated with chemical waste from the factories. Here is a woman standing with her aluminum vessel (‘Anda’ in Tamil Language), near the lake for washing her clothes. Many people avoid soaps as they could not afford it. They rinse the clothes hard to get rid of the dirt.
