The beauty of light

Close up video shot of the painting, video shot gives better clarity of the painting.

She is a beautiful Indian woman draped in saree, wearing traditional jewelry to suit the saree and she is holding a small mud lamp in her hand. Here in India, we have a Hindu festival called Karthigai dheebam where we light small lamps all around the house, it is called the festival of light, Technically it means it is an auspicious day for us as we are lighting the house via lighting lamps and getting rid of darkness. Here is one such young woman in the process, holding a small lamp in her hand.
I would say this is one of my best paintings of 2023. Actually I started this work in 2022, in the month of November and then I had to keep it in the loft for a while as there was no light between November and February. Then I took it out in the month of April and finished it. I was not very pleased with the initial output of the process so I started the skin alone from the scratch. Then the painting developed the magic I was hoping for.
This is how the painting looks in broad day light. If you are interested in purchasing this painting, please contact us.
